Korean Air has officially opened its newly renovated flagship lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), marking a major step in the carrier’s global brand transformation and premium strategy. The next-generation facility, located in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, is set to welcome guests from March 6 following a two-day preview event that began Feb. 26.

A Modern Take on Korean Luxury

Designed by Singapore-based LTW Designworks, the lounge represents a KRW 65 billion investment and took 22 months to complete. It is the first overseas lounge to be upgraded ahead of Korean Air’s planned integration with Asiana Airlines.

Spanning 1,675 square metres across two levels, the lounge is now Korean Air’s largest directly operated overseas facility. The First Class Lounge occupies the sixth floor, while the Miler Club and Prestige Class Lounge are located on the fifth floor.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony terrace offer sweeping views of the terminal interior, while natural light, warm wood finishes and stone textures reflect what the airline describes as “modern Korean luxury”. Traditional elements, including Buncheong ceramics and moon jars, are displayed alongside contemporary artwork.

The First Class Lounge features two private suites, an à la carte dining service and a full-service bar staffed by professional bartenders. In the Miler Club and Prestige areas, chefs prepare dishes at live cooking stations. Guests can also sample Southern California craft beers and a signature Los Angeles coffee blend. A QR-code ordering system allows select passengers to request menu items directly from their seats.

Expanding Global Lounge Presence

The facility includes business zones, family seating and shower suites designed for long-haul travellers. Korean Air said the lounge will be accessible to eligible passengers and premium customers flying with SkyTeam partners.

LAX serves as the airline’s primary North American gateway, linking Asia with the United States and Latin America. David Pacey, executive vice president and chief of in-flight service and lounges, said:

“With the opening of this flagship lounge, Korean Air will further elevate its presence at LAX,”

The carrier plans further upgrades at major hubs, including a renovated lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) later this year.
