IndiGo expands route from Mumbai to Central Asian cities

IndiGo expands its network from Mumbai to major Central Asian cities, Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Almaty (Kazakhstan). This is a weekly flight commencing in September.

Flight frequency

Following the recent launch of IndiGo’s direct flight on the Mumbai-Tbilisi (Georgia) route, the route connecting Mumbai to the two Asian cities is a four-weekly flight commencing September 1, 2025, and September 2, 2025, respectively. This is part of the airline’s commitment to strengthening connectivity in India’s financial capital and its development as a main aviation hub for IndiGo. The airline has been operating direct flights from Delhi to Tashkent, Almaty, and Tbilisi since 2023. 

Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales at IndiGo, commented on the successful operations from New Delhi to Tbilisi, Almaty to Tashkent and the impact it had on this new route from Mumbai to the Asian cities. Malhotra also stated that the recent long-haul flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam, as it marks IndiGo’s entry into Europe. The airline intends to strengthen its connectivity between Mumbai to other destinations within India and the rest of the world.
