Boeing and Airbus, two leading global aircraft manufacturing giants, announced their aircraft delivery figures for July 2025, revealing potential hardships Boeing has been facing in their business this year.
Airbus Taking the Lead for July 2025
Reviewing the delivery data published by the two manufacturers for July 2025, Airbus has delivered 67 aircraft to 41 customers, while Boeing delivered 48 aircraft.
Although the former has seen a decrease and the latter an increase compared to the delivery numbers of the same month last year, Airbus is still ahead in the competition with a total of 373 delivered year to date, compared to 328 for Boeing. Boeing’s popular 737 Max aircraft accounted for a majority of its deliveries, while for Airbus, its single-aisle aircraft has been the most popular this year.
Forecasting aircraft deliveries for the rest of the year, Airbus estimates a 7% increase in aircraft delivered compared to the previous year, at a total of 820. Boeing has not provided more information on estimated annual deliveries. In terms of their order book, Boeing booked 31 gross orders in July while Airbus booked seven.
Hardships for Boeing Aircraft Delivery?
Boeing has faced multiple hardships since the start of 2025, with 2 fatal plane crashes in South Korea in December 2024 and recently in India in June. Trade disputes between the U.S. and China also caused a halt to Boeing orders to Chinese airlines, further decreasing order numbers for the manufacturer. Deliveries were China were then resumed as tariff tensions were resolved. Rigorous checks have been conducted to ensure the aircraft is up to safety standards. But a rather negative association towards Boeing’s image prevails through the year so far.
