Icelandair will launch a seasonal nonstop route between St. Louis and Iceland in May 2027. At the same time, the airline is also expanding its cooperation with Southwest Airlines to increase connecting options between North America, Iceland and Europe.

Icelandair Launches St. Louis-Keflavik Route
The new route will connect St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) with Keflavik International Airport (KEF). From May 14 to Oct. 24, 2027, up to four flights will operate per week.
The flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Passengers departing from St. Louis can connect through Iceland and travel to more than 35 destinations in Europe.
This announcement comes as Icelandair continues to introduce newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft. Its Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A321LR aircraft are part of the airline’s fleet renewal programme.

Icelandair Expands Southwest Airlines Partnership
The route would further strengthen the company’s network and provide more travel options through Icelandair’s expanding cooperation with Southwest Airlines. Passengers departing from St. Louis can connect through Iceland and fly to other destinations across Icelandair’s transatlantic network.
At the same time, passengers arriving from Iceland and Europe will also be able to access Southwest Airlines’ domestic network through St. Louis.
According to St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the new service will provide another transatlantic transport link for the region and support tourism, trade and business travel.
St. Louis Lambert International Airport serves approximately 15.6 million passengers annually. The addition of Icelandair will further expand the airport’s international route network in summer 2027.
