Iberia is bringing Christmas magic to its passengers with festive flight experiences and a special Three Wise Men video call for children.
The airline will continue its country’s Christmas tradition of Los Reyes Magos, the Spanish custom of celebrating the Three Wise Men, for its fifth year. The Three Kings will be surprising children with live video calls, where they can experience the ultimate adventure of the Spanish holidays.
The opportunity is only available from 26th December to 5th January meaning parents must act fast if their children wish to speak to the Three Wise Men.
Feliz Navidad, Iberia!
Iberia has participated in this event for more than four years, having the Wise Men call more than 26 million people in 6200 locations globally. They aim to spread the excitement of Christmas to the children, and ‘not-so-children’, of the world.
The airline asks that parents submit a form on Iberia’s page before the video call commences. This form asks questions such as: How have they behaved?, Child’s hobby?, and which Wise man they would like to speak to.
The call will be available on any device. Children can tell the Three Wise Men about how they behaved throughout the year, their interests and hobbies, and ask for their desired gifts to be delivered to them on the night of 5 January.
Gemma Juncá, Iberia’s Brand and Marketing Director, commented on why Iberia carries out these experiences:
“Iberia has been accompanying people in Spain and around the world for almost 100 years to fulfil their dreams of travelling to their favourite destinations and, of course, we have witnessed how every Christmas families gather to celebrate together these special dates, so we wanted to repeat and improve this experience to bring the magic of Christmas for all families to enjoy it even more.”
Iberia is one of many airlines to offer Christmas gifts to the globe, another example being Air Canada’s Santa’s Kingdom.
The gift that keeps on giving
The Three Wise Men isn’t the only thing the airline has to offer.
On 20 December, Iberia announced that over one million purchasable seats will be available until 7 January. Between this time, the airline will operate almost 5100 flights.
Iberia has increased its aircraft size to meet the high demand expected in the holiday season. More travellers will be able to fly to snowy destinations such as Salzburg, iconic European capitals, or classic winter cities such as Geneva or Prague.
Christmas will also be celebrated on Iberia’s flights with special onboard services, including special desserts for business and economy passengers.
On New Year’s Eve, long-haul customers will receive 12 lucky grapes and cava to celebrate 2025.
And, on 6 January, Los Reyes Magos, Iberia will offer the Spanish dish Roscón de Reyes. Lucky customers may bite in to find a total of 228,000 Avios points spread across a variety of flights. There will be prizes ranging from 100,000 Avios points to 1000 points.
This cuisine will also be offered in Madrid’s festive premium lounges. Iberia’s youngest customers will be able to deposit letters that the Three Wise Men can read in their magic mailboxes.
