The International Air Transport Association appoints Thomas Reynaert as Senior Vice President of External Affairs. His new position will oversee global advocacy at IATA from its office in Brussels, Belgium.
Previously Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Europe, The Middle East, and Africa for International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) in 2023, Thomas Reynaert has been appointed by the IATA as the Senior Vice President and with experience and knowledge, to lead Global Advocacy at IATA.
Prior to his role at IBM, Thomas Reynaert was the founding Managing Director at Airlines for Europe (A4E) which was successful from 2016 to 2023, leading to his role as Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs at IBM, and now with IATA.
“Although Thomas will be based in Brussels with an immediate focus on EU matters, he will be responsible for leading IATA’s team of advocates globally, including in Washington and at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).” says IATA Director General, Willie Walsh.
Reynaert on his role as Senior Vice President of External Affairs
“I’ll be working with government worldwide for a more productive regulatory environment in which airlines can efficiently compete and grow as they deliver the global connectivity that makes our world a better place,” said Reynaert.
Reynaert will begin his role as Senior Vice President of External Affairs from Sept. 1, and will oversee IATA’s global advocacy efforts.
