Top 5 Air-to-Sea Destinations for Your Next Vacation

Whether you have a sunny Mediterranean cruise, an Alaskan adventure, or a European tour in mind, there are a few destinations you should consider if you want to go from the air to a ship as quickly as possible.

1. Barcelona, Spain

If you’re dreaming about a beach holiday, but don’t necessarily want to be too far away from the action, Barcelona is perfect. Plus, the major international airport is just a 30-minute drive away from the cruise port, where you can travel to Italy, France and Greece.

While in Barcelona, don’t miss the iconic Sagrada Família and Park Güell, as well as the chance to take a stroll down La Rambla.

2. Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA

There are few places quite like Fort Lauderdale if it’s year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches and laid-back vibes you’re after.

The fact that it’s just a few minutes away from Port Everglades is just another reason why it’s a top pick for convenient air-to-sea travel. The Bahamas, as well as the Southern and Eastern Caribbean, are top destinations from Fort Lauderdale.

There’s lots to see and do before you head off, though, including exploring the Venice of America by water taxi and visiting the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens.

3. Singapore

Clean and modern, Singapore is another destination you may want to consider. Changi Airport is frequently ranked as one of the world’s best, and you’ll only need to travel 30 minutes to reach cruise terminals that will take you to Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.

You’ll also want to factor in some time to explore Singapore, too. Don’t forget to pack your camera for when you visit the stunning Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark. Little India and Chinatown are also worth a stop.

4. Vancouver, Canada

Known for its beautiful natural scenery and bustling city, Vancouver will take you from an international airport to a downtown cruise terminal in no time at all. From there, you can reach destinations like Alaska, which makes for one of the most unforgettable getaways.

Don’t miss Stanley Park, Granville Island or a gondola ride at nearby Grouse Mountain before you step onto your cruise ship, though!

5. Rome, Italy

If you want to see one of the best parts of Europe before heading to Italy, Greece or Turkey, Rome is the perfect starting point. After landing at Rome Fiumicino Airport, the Port of Civitavecchia is just 90 minutes away.

Rome is a top pre-cruise stop for a reason, with sites such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Vatican City being must-sees.
