A Ryanair flight from London Stansted Airport to Ibiza descended into chaos when a fight broke out shortly before it was scheduled to land. The fight occurred at 35,000ft on Monday, 5 Oct.

What happened?

Harry Watson, a 28-year-old passenger on said flight, was one of many who witnessed the huge brawl at the back of the aircraft. He claimed the main man involved refused to return to his seat despite the seatbelt sign being on because he wanted to use the “toilet.”

In an interview with NeedToKnow, Harry said:

“Everyone started shouting at him. As he went back to his seat and people were shouting at him – one guy was being very verbal. The lad didn’t like it, so he got angry and violent towards the guy, which caused a fight to break out. This happened multiple times. The lad started attacking the other passengers and had to be restrained a lot. There was then another guy that got up and hit the lad.”

Harry took a video of the incident. In the footage, he captured a female cabin crew member trying to break up the brawl. She can be heard yelling at the man, telling him to “sit down” as the fight started to erupt in the aisle. The video quickly went viral on social media, garnering over 90,000 views.

The fight caused the aircraft to delay landing, leaving the other passengers frustrated.

Ryanair’s comments and a similar incident

A spokesperson from Ryanair said:

“Crew on this flight from London Stansted to Ibiza (5 Oct) called ahead for police assistance after a passenger became disruptive onboard. Police met the aircraft upon landing at Ibiza Airport, and the disruptive passenger was removed.”

Regarding a fight breaking out on board, the Ryanair spokesperson said:

“Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a respectful and stress-free environment, without unnecessary disruption.”

This isn’t the first time a disruptive passenger has been on a Ryanair flight to Ibiza. On Oct 3, 2023, a man had to be removed from a Ryanair flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Ibiza. The flight was forced to divert to Bordeaux, France, where the aircraft was met by local police on the tarmac.
