H1 2025 results

Etihad Airways generated 1.1 billion AED (£236,500,000) in the first half of the year, a 32% increase compared to the same period last year. This was due to the airline’s continuous gains in customer demand, productivity, and efficiency. The airline’s total revenue, which was mostly driven by passenger and cargo revenue, rose by 16% year over year.

Its EBITDA rose by 24% year-on-year to AED 2.7 billion (£547,814,340.00), and its margin improved to 20%. In the first half of 2025 the airline carried 10.2 million passengers, a 17% increase year-on-year, supported by a 14 percent rise in Available Seat Kilometres (ASK) and a passenger load factor of 87%. In early July, the airline doubled its 10 million passenger milestone carried in 2022, surpassing its milestone of 20 million passengers carried in the last 12 months.

Further Growth

Etihad Airways has also been expanding its fleet of aircraft, taking delivery of its sixth Airbus A350 in April and its seventh A380 in May. Etihad also placed an order for 28 wide-body aircraft with Boeing. The airline added five additional aircraft to its fleet in July 2025, one of which included its first A321LR. Etihad brought the A321LR into service in early August with its first flight to Phuket. During the flight aboard the A321LR to Phuket, the airline offered First Class suites and lie-flat Business seats on medium-haul routes.

Etihad continues to grow, all of its recent initiatives have enabled the airline to serve almost 90 destinations as of June 2025. In 2025 alone, the airline launched 27 new destinations and continues to expand its network, including its fleet. Etihad welcomed over 1,700 new hires in the first half of 2025, this included more than 100 pilots and 1,000 cabin crew.
