Eurovision fever reached cruising altitude as easyJet delivered an unforgettable glitter-filled celebration at 35,000 feet, soaring en route from London to Basel – the host city for the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest. As the Official Airline Partner of the event, easyJet treated 75 fans to a complimentary flight from London Gatwick, complete with the ultimate sky-high party.

Sky-High Glamour Takes Flight: A Fabulous Launch to Eurovision 2025
The highlight of the journey? The spectacular Sky High Orange Runway – an impromptu talent show judged in the air by passengers themselves and hosted by none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner, Ginger Johnson. From traditional Irish dancing to disco anthems, the cabin became a stage of pure joy, with Elaine McAdam from Ireland stealing the show (and the crown) with a spirited rendition of ABBA’s “Mamma Mia.”
The festivities weren’t just in the air as when fans made their way to their flight, individuals were treated to a Eurovision-themed check-in experience, complete with bespoke goodie bags and fabulous photo opportunities. Once aboard, the celebrations continued with singalongs, giveaways, and wall-to-wall Eurovision energy.
Upon landing in Basel, passengers were warmly welcomed by Eurovision mascot Lumo, as the Swiss city gears up to host the semi-finals and Grand Final on 13, 15, and 17 May. As Basel’s largest airline, easyJet is ramping up its operations for the occasion, adding 6,000 extra seats and preparing to carry more than 47,000 Eurovision enthusiasts to EuroAirport this year.
Michael Brown, easyJet’s Director of Cabin Services, said:
“We have loved bringing the joy and spirit of Eurovision to the skies for our customers. As the Official Airline of the Eurovision Song Contest, this is just one of the many exciting ways we’re celebrating the world’s biggest and best song contest this year.”
He continues:
“We are proud to deliver unforgettable experiences for our customers and help them get out there to explore and enjoy the fantastic experiences on offer across Europe and beyond.”
With dazzling glamour, fan-fuelled festivities, and a cabin full of super fans, this airborne spectacle marked a truly fabulous launch to Eurovision 2025.

Background of easyJet
EasyJet is a British low-cost airline founded in 1995 by Sir Stelios Haji-loannou. The airline’s primary goal was to make air travel affordable and accessible to a wider audience, competing with the more expensive legacy carriers. Since being established, the company has grown to operate an extensive network of routes across Europe and beyond, serving millions of passengers annually.
The airline focuses on cost efficiency by maintaining a single aircraft type – the Airbus A320 – allowing for easier maintenance and crew training.
Over the years, EasyJet has become one of Europe’s largest low-cost carriers, with a strong emphasis on customer service, punctuality, and a simple booking process. Its business model continues to challenge traditional airline pricing and has contributed to the widespread popularity of low-cost flying.
