Cathay Pacific: Extensive Route Expansion Plans for 2025, 4 Destinations announced so far

Rome is the 4th destination Cathay announced since the start of 2025, following Hyderabad, Dallas-Fort Worth and Urumqi. Lavina Lau, the airline’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, envisions strong connections between Hong Kong and multiple major European cities:

“In addition to Rome, we will also be launching flights to Munich and Brussels this summer. In total, we will be operating close to 100 return flights per week to 12 European destinations, providing our customers with even greater connectivity between Hong Kong and this important region.”

This new direct route operates 3 times a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO).

With route after route announced, Cathay continues to level up their game in aviation, not only increasing destinations around the world for both Cathay Pacific and Hong Kong Express, the budget airline under the same group, but also striving to perfect service onboard with boosted internet connections and new Business class cabin designs. Together with an in-flight entertainment system filled with the latest releases, in-flight culinary that collaborates with Hong Kong’s best restaurants, the airline is definitely securing quality service onboard for every traveller.
