British Airways has announced their summer schedule — including new destinations and an increase in daily flights. The airline has launched flights to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Tbilisi, Georgia this week. Both routes operate from London Heathrow Airport (LHR), reconnecting the UK with the two regions and encouraging further travel to the rest of the world.

Spotlight on Kuala Lumpur and Tbilisi
British Airways has touched down in Kuala Lumpur for the first time in five years. The return of this flight route demonstrates British Airways’ continued investment in Asia Pacific that aims to simultaneously expand travel options and strengthen business, tourism and cultural ties.
Flights to Kuala Lumpur will depart on a daily schedule from this summer, served by the airline’s Boeing 787-900 fleet. Return fares to the Malaysian capital start from £574. Kuala Lumpur provides links to a further 17 routes, allowing UK tourists a seamless tie to the rest of the world. Connecting destinations include Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
British Airways has also reintroduced Tbilisi into its route destinations, twelve years after its last service in 2013. Located at the crossroads where Europe meets Asia, Georgia has a rich history and distinct culture – this includes picturesque scenery and an 8,000-year-old history of winemaking as the proud birthplace of wine. Flights to the capital city of Georgia will operate four times per week, with prices for a return journey starting from £244.
Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer for British Airways, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Malaysia and Georgia back to our network, both of which are two key destinations that our customers know and love. Our teams have worked hard to bring these routes firmly back on our route map, meaning customers have more choice when it comes to travel for work or pleasure across Europe, Asia and beyond. From the birthplace of wine to one of the most connected cities in Asia, we hope our customers take advantage of exploring somewhere new and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

Plans for the Rest of the World
In addition to Kuala Lumpur and Tbilisi, British Airways is increasing their schedule of flights from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND). The airline will operate two flights on a daily basis, marking a large increase in capacity and connectivity. British Airways will now operate 14 flights a week to Tokyo, Japan.
Next month, British Airways is welcoming the addition of three new routes to Italy. This consists of London Heathrow Airport to Rimini on the Adriatic Coast on 15 May, London Gatwick Airport to Salerno on the Amalfi Coast on 22 May, and London City Airport to Olbia in Sardinia on 25 May. These routes will raise the number of Italian destinations served by British Airways to nineteen in total – this makes Italy the European country with the most stops in the airline’s network.
The airline has also increased the number of flights they provide to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, boosting travel and trade connections between the two countries. The route will run nearly every day of the week (excluding Tuesdays), seeing a rise in more than 80,000 seats compared to last year.
