In a recent update, British Airways announced all flights heading to Dubai, as well as other cities in UAE and the rest of the Gulf Region, are canceled as the US–Israeli conflict with Iran continues.

The Airline and Safety Concerns
The official announcement of the airline states that it will not provide flights for several places in the Gulf Region, including The Kingdom of Bahrain, Dubai, Tel Aviv and the Jordanian capital Amman through May 31. Other routes in the area are also operating on an altered schedule, as the flights to Doha are suspended until April 30, and flights to Abu Dhabi remain suspended until October. However, British Airways’ flights to Riyadh and Jeddah are set to continue as planned, and passengers have until May 31 to change flights.
This comes as the latest update in a long list of British Airways cancellations in the gulf region and the Middle East. They are not the only carrier which has resorted to cancellations in order to ensure the safety of the passengers amid the the US–Israeli conflict with Iran. The entire area has been facing continuous changes in flight routes and new limitations on both departures and arrivals.

How the Situation Progresses in Dubai and the Region
The decision of British Airways is not unfounded, as Dubai has been a target in Iran’s recent strikes. On Monday, a few hours before the carrier’s announcement, the airport underwent a drone strike. The blow managed to set fire to a fuel storage tank. As firefighters and other emergency crews and services tackled the flames, the airport suspended flights for several hours.
As the war continues, the UAE and other US allied states are getting targeted by Iran. The UK Foreign Office advises caution and avoidance of all but strictly essential travel to UAE and the other states in the Gulf Region.
