A British Airways Boeing 747-400, registration G-BNLN performing flight BA-209 from London Heathrow, EN (UK) to Miami, FL (USA), was on final approach to Miami’s runway 12 when the crew initiated a go-around at about 1000 feet AGL due to a problem with the flaps. The aircraft climbed back to 3000 feet, the crew advised they needed some time to work the checklists. The crew subsequently positioned for another approach to runway 12 and landed safely at a normal speed about 20 minutes after the go around.

A passenger reported the first officer announced they were going around for “technical issues”. About 25 minutes later they landed successfully.
