The Spanish airline Binter Canaries has successfully ordered a series of new ATR 82-600 aircraft for its fleet. This acquisition has ensured that this regional airline consistently uses sustainable aircraft while reducing CO2 emissions.

The Overview of Binter’s Order

Binter Canaries established an agreement with ATR for the airline to obtain four ATR 72-600 model aircraft. The acquisition, valued at 215 million dollars in total, means that Binter Canaries continues to remain on track with the modernisation of its fleet of aircraft.

The latest technology the 72-600 aircraft uses confirms its efficiency, particularly turboprops for smoother take-offs and landings.

The agreement also includes an option for Binter Canaries to purchase five more of these aircraft for its fleet.

President of Binter, Rodolfo Núñez, commented on this new investment:

“It underlines our commitment to guarantee maximum comfort and, in turn, connectivity to our passengers. In addition, with the extraordinary efficiency of the PW127XT engines, specifically optimised for the ATR models, we are adopting new standards in reducing fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and operating costs, clearly committing to the implementation of an aviation model that is increasingly respectful of sustainability.”

The Continued Relationship Between Binter and ATR

1989 saw the first fleet of aircraft purchased by Binter from ATR, where the 72-200 model was used in order to promote the airline’s efficient methods. Thanks to this purchase, the airline began its legacy of maintaining sustainability during its commercial operations.

In the present day, this legacy for Binter remains intact as the 72-600 becomes its new sustainable aircraft. Thanks to its trust in ATR, this airline’s fleet is cutting back on its use of fuel and CO2 emissions by 45%.
