Cruise Ports with the Best Air Connectivity

Here are the top cruise ports that are well connected to major airports, ensuring you can get from your plane to your ship with ease.

Port Miami, Florida

PortMiami is one of the busiest cruise ports in the world, with the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Panama Canal being some of the most popular destinations.

The good news is that it’s only a 20-minute drive from Miami International Airport, making sailing from Miami easy for both local and international travellers.

Before you depart, be sure to take a stroll around the Wynwood Walls art district and visit Little Havana for an authentic Cuban meal.

Barcelona Cruise Port, Spain

If you’re planning to set sail from Barcelona to the Canary Islands or somewhere in the Mediterranean, the Barcelona-El Prat Airport is only a 20 – 30 minute drive away from the cruise port. However, it’s worth spending some time in Barcelona too.

From tasting tapas in the Gothic Quarter and relaxing on Barceloneta Beach to marvelling at La Sagrada Família and other Gaudí masterpieces, Barcelona is the perfect pre-cruise adventure.

Civitavecchia Cruise Port, Italy

Flying into Rome to set sail on the Mediterranean? It will take you around an hour to get to the Civitavecchia cruise port but you can always hop on a train to limit transfer stress.

If you are planning to spend a day or even a few hours in Rome, you should definitely take a walk through Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori (and grab some real Italian gelato!).

Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a mere 10 minutes from Port Everglades, ensuring a quick and easy cruise departure to destinations like the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and South America.

If you have some time to kill though, indulge in a gondola tour through the city’s scenic canals or take some time out on Fort Lauderdale Beach – and don’t forget to pack your swimsuit!

Singapore Cruise Centre, Singapore

Changi is often ranked one of the world’s best airports and its close proximity to the Singapore Cruise Centre is a bonus. It takes just 20 – 30 minutes by car to reach your departure point to spots like Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.

Don’t leave Singapore without visiting the Gardens By the Bay and the Marina Bay Sands. And, if you have some extra time to kill, Sentosa Island is an incredible day out – think beaches, sea creatures, and Universal Studios.

Holidays are meant for fun and relaxation and keeping your transfers between airports and cruise ports stress-free can make the world of difference. Fortunately, you have several good cruise port options to choose from that won’t leave you fighting traffic.
