Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has been ranked the most punctual airline in the world in March 2026, according to Cirium’s, an aviation analytics company’s, monthly On-Time Performance Report, which tracks flight data globally to rank airlines’ performance in punctuality.

Building on a Pattern of Punctuality
According to the On-Time Performance Report, out of all flights operated by SAS in March 2026, 89.75% arrived on time, which was the highest score achieved by an airline in that month. The Mexican flag airline, Aeromexico, ranked second in the March report, and Iberia, the national carrier of Spain, secured third place.
“Being recognized as the world’s most punctual airline in March, whilst there is so much going on in the world, is all the more rewarding. This award goes out to our customers who trust us every day, and to our colleagues who rise to meet that trust with commitment and excellence,” said the president and CEO of SAS, Anko van der Werff.
The airline maintained its schedule amidst the challenging weather conditions in March, when the weather can be windy and snowy. SAS’s ranking at the top in the report underscores its successes in the 2025 reports, where it ranked second in Europe and third globally for its punctuality.

80 Years of Commitment to Scandinavian Aviation
Within the past few years, SAS has focused on more efficient turnaround, and increased accuracy through routine planning. Through added coordination across various departments in the travel chain, SAS has been able to further improve its operational processes, resulting in increased efficiency.
“As we celebrate our 80th anniversary this year, it is especially meaningful to see how the spirit and reliability that have defined SAS for decades continue to guide us forward,” van der Werff said.
With SAS entering its 80th year in operation, it will continue to prioritise and invest in improving its operational processes to increase punctuality for its customers. As it has done for the past eight decades, the airline remains committed to connecting Scandinavia to the rest of the world.
