On 24 July 2024, Avolon, an aviation finance company, placed an order for 90 Airbus ‘aircraft, which includes 15 A330neo and 75 A321neo. Along with the new order, Avolon now owns 79 A330neo and 264 A321neo aircraft.
Avolon CEO Andy Cronin stated that “This order demonstrates our strong confidence in the long-term demand for new aircraft. Our scale and balance sheet position us to support our airline customers’ expansion and replacement needs into the next decade. Both the A321neo and A330neo are in high demand, and we anticipate this trend to continue, given the long-term growth trajectory of the aviation sector. We are delighted to be expanding and extending our long-term partnership with Airbus with this order.”
The Airbus EVP of Sales for the Commercial Aircraft Business expressed his gratitude to Avolon and their partnership with Airbus.
According to Reuters, Avolon is set to receive 413 Airbus ‘aircraft in the next eight years.

Why did Avolon choose the A330neo and A321neo?
The latest generation A330-900 features a range of 7,200 nm (13,300 km) non-stop, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines. Additionally, these engines reduce fuel burn and CO₂ emissions and save the operating cost by 25%.
Moreover, the A330neo features an award-winning Airspace cabin, offering comfort and a pleasant ambience. The cabin also includes enlarged overhead bins, a new lighting system, and in-flight entertainment.
Whereas the A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ A320neo family, the aircraft brings a 50% noise reduction and more than 20% fuel savings. In addition to this, it produces less CO₂ compared to previous-generation single-aisle aircraft.
