Columbia’s national airline, Avianca, has been confirmed as the official airline for the upcoming Barranquilla Carnival. This announcement confirms the continuation of the airline’s connection with the city where it was inaugurated 105 years ago.

Building Connections in Time for the Carnival

It has been confirmed that approximately 120 flights a week will commence to and from cities in Columbia and the USA, including Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Miami.

These weekly flights will take place throughout March 2025, particularly from the 1st to the 4th, the height of the Barranquilla Carnival.

Ana María Copete, Director of Commercial Development at Avianca, commented on its primary aim during the carnival:

“For Avianca, it is an honour to be part of such an iconic celebration as the Barranquilla Carnival. Our airline was born in this city, and we feel deeply connected to its people and traditions. We want everyone to experience this unique event, which is why we are offering our extensive route network and actively participating in the carnival’s official program,”

Supporting Avianca’s Vision for 2025

The number of people attending the Barranquilla Carnival has increased noticeably over the years. This means that more and more people want to catch a flight to the Atlántico Department capital in order to experience the festivities for themselves.

With passengers relying on Avianca to get them to Barranquilla in time for the first day of the festival, the carnival is an example of how the airline can prove it can meet increasing customer demand.

This matches Avianca’s vision to be at the forefront of aviation in Latin America throughout 2025.
