American Airlines is set to add 10 new boarding gates to Terminal A at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). This project is part of the airline’s broader multiyear modernisation plan within its largest hub.

American Airlines Adds 10 Boarding Gates at DFW

The Terminal A pier expansion will include 10 new boarding gates. Once the expansion project is completed and put into use, Terminal A will become the busiest terminal at American Airlines’ DFW hub.

The expanded terminal will also provide new commercial facilities and more advanced passenger service areas, and will add support spaces for American Airlines employees working at the terminal.

American Airlines has not announced the exact opening date, but has stated that the expanded pier will open soon. This progress was featured in the latest episode of the company’s Forever Forward at DFW video series, which reports on construction developments at the airport.

DFW is American Airlines’ home base and largest hub, and is the busiest airport in its network.

American Airlines Continues to Modernise DFW

American Airlines is continuing to modernise and upgrade DFW with billions of dollars invested in a comprehensive renovation. The project includes upgrades to Terminals A and C, as well as the construction of a new Terminal F.

The airline says these projects aim to make travel at the airport more efficient for passengers, while improving the reliability of flight schedules and transfer connections. The upgrade measures are designed to enhance the airport’s ability to handle severe weather and other operational disruptions.

Terminal F is expected to be completed in 2030. American Airlines plans to operate all 31 new boarding gates in the terminal, including increasing the capacity for wide-body aircraft, updating the baggage system, adding dedicated premium lounges, Flagship check-in facilities and a new U.S. Customs facility.

Other improvements at DFW include renovating passenger areas and improving lounges. The airline will also add new workspaces and facilities for its employees.
