US Regional and International carrier American Airlines are planning to fly more miles and transport more passengers than any other airline in the nation this Thanksgiving and Christmas Period, between Nov 20th and Dec 2nd. This is compared to the average statistics from competitor, Delta, who expect to operate 75,000 flights in the same time frame

Thanksgiving is Officially Taking Off…
This comes as good news for many American nationals after the shutdown of the US government disrupted regular flight operation.
American’s Chief Operating Officer David Seymour said in a statement to the media:
“The Thanksgiving holiday period is one of the most condensed and most important for our customers — the stakes are high, and the American team is ready to deliver. Customers making last-minute holiday plans – and those who booked months ago- can rest assured that our operation will run smoothly and safely. In the spirit of giving thanks: We’re thankful for everyone who worked hard to get us through several difficult weeks, especially our team members and federal aviation workers.”
Special late night services from Chicago O Hare and Phoenix have been added on November 30th to help ease congestion and adhere to increased demand on some domestic routes for the holidays.

So Much Choice…
The Carrier currently runs routes across North America, including twice daily flights to major Festive holiday destinations in Europe including, London, Paris and Amsterdam.
What do you think about the increase for the Festive Period? Do you think more Airlines need to increase their routes over busy periods?
