Allegiant Air will launch two new year-round routes between Flint (FNT) and Orlando and Fort Myers in Florida in February 2027. This expansion will enable passengers from the central part of Michigan to directly reach the other two Florida airports, while increasing the frequency of the airline’s existing two routes.

The New Routes Connect Orlando and Fort Myers

The first route will be launched on Feb. 10, connecting Flint Bishop International Airport (FNT) with Orlando International Airport (MCO). The next day, flights to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), which serves the Fort Myers area, will start operating.

Currently, Allegiant Air has not announced the specific flight frequencies for these two new routes. Passengers can book tickets on the airline’s website in advance, where they will see the specific schedules and ticket prices.

These new routes will complement Allegiant Air’s existing network of flights from Flint to Florida. The company has already launched multiple flights to several leisure destinations in the state, including Orlando Sanford International Airport, Punta Gorda Airport, and Jacksonville International Airport.

By adding Orlando International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport, Allegiant Air will provide passengers with more airport services closer to the central area of Orlando and Fort Myers. This expansion also provides alternative options for the airline’s existing routes to Orlando Sanford Airport and Punta Gorda Airport.

Flights Between Flint and Other Destinations in Florida

Allegiant Air will also increase the frequency of flights between Flint and other destinations in Florida. The existing route to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) will start operating on Feb. 10, with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Subsequently, on Feb. 11, the existing route to St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, providing three flights per week.

The company stated that the increased flight frequencies are mainly due to passenger demand. Allegiant Air’s chief commercial officer, Drew Wells, said that this expansion will provide customers with “greater flexibility and value” when planning their trips.

Allegiant expands its presence in Mid-Michigan

Flint is one of Allegiant Air’s operating bases and is an important part of the airline’s strategy to connect small and medium-sized communities with leisure destinations. In addition to the Florida routes, the company also provides services from FNT to destinations such as Las Vegas, Nashville, and Phoenix-Mesa.

The CEO of Flint Bishop International Airport, Nino Sapone, said that these two year-round routes will provide more options for passengers in the central part of Michigan to travel to Florida. Currently, the airport has direct flights to seven destinations within the state.

The new routes were announced on Sept. 1. Allegiant Air initially advertised a one-way ticket price of $69, but the promotional price is subject to departure date and flight availability, and does not include all additional fees.
