Allegiant Air added a new perk to all flights starting this month. Passengers can now enjoy complimentary drinks on their future flights.

A launch that defies industry trends

In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, Aug. 9, Allegiant Air announced the addition of “complimentary soda, juice, or water” on all its flights. Alongside the free drinks, passengers can buy cocktails and other premium beverages.

The launch comes as other major airlines have reduced their food and beverage services on various flights.

In May, Delta Air Lines ended its free snack and drink service on economy flights under 350 miles, which impacts 450 flights daily. United Airlines only offers food and beverage service on flights that are 300 miles or longer. American Airlines only offers nonalcoholic drinks by request on flights under 250 miles.

Allegiant Air’s other new features

According to Allegiant Air’s press release, the new complimentary drink service is one of several new features the airline is introducing to “enhance the customer experience”.

Passengers who hold the airline’s credit card – Allways Rewards Visa® – were already offered complimentary drinks as a member perk. With the recent update, cardholders will now be offered “elevated beverages” including “coffees, protein shakes, sports drinks or alcohol and a mixer”, according to the press release.

Allegiant Air is also launching premium seating called Allegiant First, set to be implemented on select aircraft starting in the spring of 2027, with booking available from mid-August. This includes eight seats in a two-by-two arrangement, each with a “five-inch recline, calf rests and adjustable headrests”. It will also have more legroom and “enhanced amenities” for a better passenger experience.
