Canadian airline Air Transat (TS) has partnered with Montreal-based technology company stratosX to deploy an artificial intelligence (AI) powered flight disruption system. The decision support platform known as X360, will enable the airline to improve its response to flight delays, cancellations and schedule changes.
Following a successful proof of concept, TS will be “the launch airline for one of the first integrated recovery orchestration platforms in live airline operations”.
“In irregular operations, speed and clarity matter – X360 strengthens how we recover, giving our teams the visibility to act with greater confidence and consistency, while protecting the experience for our customers.”
X360 works with existing systems to consolidate flight data into one clear, structured view for multiple operational teams. It will enable proactive decision making by identifying emerging pressure and risk scenarios earlier. Suggested actions will factor in and balance aircraft and crew availability and constraints with the aim of minimising impact, delays and costs.

Platform creators stratosX estimate that disruption costs the airline industry over $60 billion a year. Their new solution aims to improve airline anticipation, absorption and adaptation.
Air Transat is also headquartered in Montreal and was founded in 1986. The airline was named the World’s Best Leisure Airline at the 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards for the seventh time in 2025, for the third consecutive year. In the same year, Air Canada (AC) was named the Best Airline in North America for the ninth time. The awards are often referred to as “the Oscars of the aviation industry”.
