Air India, the national flag carrier of India, is introducing new onboard facilities and services on its Mumbai (BOM) to London Heathrow (LHR) route. Notable changes include the launch of Premium Economy, private Business Class suites, as well as enhanced inflight entertainment systems.

India is better connected to the UK
As India grows more connected to the UK, passengers on the BOM-LHR route can benefit from a range of upgrades. These upgrades include Business Class suites with direct aisle access, flat beds which recline 79 inches, wireless charging, increased personal storage and entertainment facilities through the 17-inch 4K QLED HDR touchscreen. These upgrades are designed to enhance the long-haul travel experience.
In terms of the Premium Economy cabin, there have been improvements as well. Wider seats follow a 2-3-2 layout with 38-inch legroom, adjustable headrests, comfortable leg and calf rests, and access to a 13.3-inch 4K QLED HDR touchscreen.
The Economy Class experience has also been upgraded significantly, with ergonomically designed seats ideal for long-haul travel as well as and integrated electronic device holders.
Across all cabin classes, the elevated travel experience is achieved through Bluetooth headphone pairing capabilities, new mood lighting in the cabins inspired by Indian wellness traditions, along with refreshed onboard products, including menus and premium cutlery and creatively restructured amenity kits.
The improvements onboard are complemented by the rise of new global markets and strong demand from travellers, along with the Indian community living abroad. Currently, Air India operates 57 weekly non-stop flights between India and the UK, effectively connecting major Indian cities to the UK. These Indian cities include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Amritsar with London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Birmingham.
