As of May 13, 2026, Air India halts several services due to the ongoing fuel crisis and aerospace constraints. The flights suspension and reduction will take place between the months of June and August, 2026.

The Halting of the Services
The flights suspension are scheduled to last for three months, all throughout the Northern Hemisphere summer and the South Hemisphere winter. Several important destinations will see its services being ceased, given the current fuel crisis that have been affecting the whole aviation industry and restrictions in some regional airspaces.
A representative of Air India has publicly disclosed the reason behind the hiatus, stating:
“The adjustments have been made in response to a combination of factors, including continued airspace restrictions over certain regions and record high jet fuel prices for international operations, which significantly impact the commercial viability of certain planned services”.
Overall, the airline assured that these changes are necessary for enhanced stability in Air India’s network, as well as diminish the likelihood of last-minute disruptions to passengers.

The Impacted Routes
Air India will halt several services, including the flight from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Flights to Newark International Airport (EWR) in New York will also be temporarily halted. Other destinations include:
