Air France is strengthening its ties with the global film and creative industries by launching special direct flights from the United States to the French Riviera in 2026. Timed to coincide with the Cannes Film Festival and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the seasonal services aim to offer seamless travel for festival-goers heading to one of Europe’s most glamorous destinations.
Direct US–Riviera Flights for Cannes Events
The flights will connect Los Angeles and New York directly with Nice Cote d’Azur Airport, placing travellers just minutes from Cannes during the peak spring and summer event season.
As a long-standing partner of the Cannes Film Festival, Air France will operate non-stop flights between Los Angeles and Nice in May 2026. The services are scheduled to align with the 79th edition of the festival, running from May 12 to 23.
Flight AF041 will depart Los Angeles on May 11 at 14:00, arriving in Nice the following morning. The return service, AF040, leaves Nice on May 25, allowing festival attendees a smooth journey home after the closing events.
With thousands of film industry professionals, media representatives, and celebrities arriving each year, accommodation across the French Riviera fills up quickly during the festival season. While luxury hotels remain popular, many visitors opt for private residences for greater comfort, space, and privacy. Premium Cannes villa rentals have become especially sought-after among festival attendees who want to stay close to the Croisette while enjoying an exclusive Riviera experience.
In June, Air France will also introduce direct New York–Nice flights to support the Cannes Lions Festival, taking place from June 22 to 26. Departures from JFK are scheduled for June 20 and 21, with return flights from Nice on June 25 and 26.
La Premiere Takes Centre Stage
All festival flights will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring Air France’s new La Premiere cabin. Designed as a private, fully modular suite, La Premiere offers five windows, a seat and day bed that converts into a two-metre bed, and floor-to-ceiling curtains for complete privacy.
Passengers also benefit from two 32-inch 4K screens, wireless charging, and personalised service, positioning the cabin as one of the most luxurious first-class products in the sky. From July 2026, all Air France flights to New York-JFK and Los Angeles will feature the new La Premiere suites.
Celebrating a Deep Love of Cinema
Air France’s partnership with Cannes stretches back 46 years, reflecting the airline’s long-standing relationship with cinema. From screening films onboard as early as 1951, the carrier has woven film culture into its brand identity.
Today, Air France offers 1,500 hours of in-flight entertainment, including award-winning French films and Cannes favourites, reinforcing its reputation as a carrier that blends travel, culture and creativity.
