France’s ATR Airlines has come under pressure after falling below target due to aircraft delivery and transport delays in 2025. The French airline based in Blagnac, Toulouse, was supposed to reach a minimum financial quota of 40 aircraft, but it attributed the shortfall to unforeseen difficulties in the supply chain.

Supply Issues

The CEO of ATR Airlines, Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, expressed her views in a press conference on Feb. 18 at the manufacturer’s primary hub in Toulouse:

“We do not measure the success of a transition year like 2025 on one number. We are determined to raise our delivery rate and have taken concrete steps to address the issues that limited our output. We have strengthened every part of our organisation and laid the groundwork for a safe, sustainable, and credible increase in production.”

ATR Airlines managed only 32 successful aircraft deliveries in 2025, according to their press release, a slight decrease from the 35 deliveries it saw in 2024. Although this may be lower still, as data from ch-Aviation claims that ATR Airlines only had 26 registered deliveries in 2025, four of which were ATR 42-600s and 22 were ATR 72-600s. Because of 10 cancellations that year, the net orders reached 50 aircraft, putting the company’s backlog at 160 units.

Financial Aspirations

Despite the setbacks in delivery, ATR Airlines is committed to growing in the aviation sector. The manufacturer reported 1.2 billion euros in revenue, with approximately 100 recorded transactions, in 2025. Tarnaud Laude claimed that 2025 was a “transition year” and hopes to speed up production and increase delivery capacity in 2026 by up to 20%, with an estimated 60 aircraft to be transported each following year.

There is also an environmental focus, with ATR investing in the HERACLES programme and working in tandem with the European Union’s Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking (CAJU) to support the production of low-emission sustainability aircraft.
