The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus announces that it will present its flagship, the Airbus A350-1000, at the Paris Air Show, as well as its technological innovation.
Paris Air Show starts its 53rd edition on June 17th at Paris Le Bourget airport. The event is organised every 2 years on the odd years. On the even years, Farnborough Airshow is organized in Farnborough (Hampshire, UK). As usual, many sellers and visitors come to both events, including the two largest aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus. At Paris Airshow 2017 about 140 aircraft from 48 different countries took part. There will also be a lot of leading people from different airlines, which means that the aircraft manufacturers will be able to win large orders. In 2017 no less than 934 orders were placed. In addition to the professional days, visitor-days are also planned. Last edition, the number of visitors was 180000. A total of 322000 people came to visit the biggest airshow of the world.
Airbus will bring 5 aircraft to the event, including their flagship, the latest model of the Airbus A350 series: the Airbus A350-1000. This is the largest version of the A350 series and has a range of 15600km. It can carry 367 passengers in a two-class configuration. This makes it a major competitor of the Boeing 777-300. In addition to the A350 there will also be an Airbus A380 on display. This will not be from the builder himself, but from the Portuguese airline HiFly, which is painted in ‘Safe the coral reefs’ colors. Airbus had previously announced that it would cease the production of the largest passenger aircraft in 2021 due to a lack of orders.
For the static display, Airbus will show the A220-300 (CS300) and the upgrade of their A330: the A330neo which is a test aircraft so painted in the colors of Airbus. The A220-300 is owned by Air Baltic. Furthermore, the A321neo of the French company La Compagnie will be shown at Le Bourget Airport on Tuesday 18 June.
Airbus will also fly some helicopters and military planes to the airport such as the new H160M, the H145M, the H175 and an H125M mock-up. The military part, Airbus Defense, will be represented by an A330MRTT and an A400M.
Earlier this week, Airbus published figures for the month of May. Only one order was counted (an ACJ320neo, business variant of the A320neo), but instead it was allowed to deliver many aircraft. 4 A220’s, 57 A320-family aircraft, 2 A380’s, 5 A330’s and 13 A350’s.
Airbus celebrated his 50th anniversary on 29 May 2019 with a fly-past over Toulouse Airport. The company was formed by a contract between Germany and France at Paris Air Show in 1969.
