A Milestone Partnership

AviLease, the Saudi-headquartered global aircraft lessor, has signed its first lease agreement with Riyadh Air, the Kingdom’s new national carrier. The deal covers one Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with delivery scheduled for Q4 2025.

This partnership makes AviLease the first lessor to collaborate with Riyadh Air, representing a major step toward the airline’s anticipated commercial launch.

The Boeing 787-9, known for its advanced technology and fuel efficiency, aligns with both companies’ commitment to sustainable, next-generation aviation.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Aviation Vision

The lease supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Strategy, both designed to create a world-class aviation ecosystem. According to Edward O’Byrne, CEO of AviLease, the agreement marks “an important milestone” in the company’s growth, reinforcing its dual role as a global competitor and strategic enabler of the Kingdom’s aviation ambitions.

Adam Boukadida, CFO of Riyadh Air, emphasised that the Boeing 787 will be key to offering “a world-class travel experience” as the airline builds a young, efficient fleet.

Expanding Global Reach

AviLease continues to expand its portfolio of high-demand aircraft, focusing on modern, fuel-efficient models like the Boeing 787. As of Q3 2025, the company manages 192 owned and leased aircraft across 48 airlines in 29 countries. The partnership not only highlights AviLease’s global capabilities but also underscores its role in shaping a modern aviation ecosystem for Saudi Arabia. Together, the two companies are setting the stage for the Kingdom’s emergence as a major global aviation hub.
