Indian airline IndiGo announced a new schedule of increased flight frequency on routes that connect Mumbai and Delhi to Manchester, following their long-haul flight debut back in July of the same year.

Changed Schedule in Response to Increasing Demand

As the first carrier internationally to have direct flights connecting India and Manchester, IndiGo announced that, with increasing demand for the route, they are increasing flight frequencies of both routes from Mumbai and Delhi to Manchester from 15 November.

The airline mentioned the possibilities in the UK-India corridor with the two nations’ increasing economic exchange and the expanding size of the Indian diaspora.

These routes will be flown with the Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with an increased flight frequency from 4 to 5 weekly flights between Delhi and Manchester, and 3 to 4 weekly flights from Mumbai to Manchester.

The airline expects a 28% increase in carrying capacity on this route with the new schedule.

IndiGo: Increased Global Connectivity from India

IndiGo has announced a series of new routes that connect India to other global cities this year, including destinations in the UK, Amsterdam, and the recent resumption of flights between China and India after 5 years. IndiGo’s dive into the long-haul flight market is a strong move that increases global mobility and reconsolidates India’s regional and global importance in aviation.
