Code-share agreement

The Greek regional carrier agreement with Etihad Airways provides Etihad Airways access to 24 Greek island destinations, including three additional destinations in Eastern Mediterranean cities, giving customers more options when travelling via Athens. This agreement further extends Etihad’s network across Greek islands and the Eastern Mediterranean region. The agreement builds on the existing interline cooperation between the two airlines and is effective on July 14, 2025. Arik De, chief revenue and commercial officer at Etihad Airways, said:

“This partnership with SKY Express opens exciting new possibilities for our customers to discover Greece beyond Athens. SKY express’s comprehensive island network perfectly complements our Athens service, giving travellers seamless access to some of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful destinations through a single booking.”

Destinations

According to the agreement, Etihad will place its code on SKY Express-operated flights beyond Athens. This is to ensure seamless access between Greece’s most popular island destinations, some of which include Crete, Mykonos, Rhodes, Kos, and Santorini. Athens is a key gateway to many island destinations. With Etihad’s daily service to Athens, the Greek capital serves as a key hub for onward island travel.

Among the 24 destinations are Corfu, Paros, and Thessaloniki. Customers can book their flights through the airline’s website or via the Etihad app. Etihad continues to expand its European network, with Athens playing a strategic role in connecting travellers to Greece’s islands and culture. Gerasimos Skaltsas, chief commercial officer at SKY Express, stated that the collaboration with Etihad reinforces SKY Express as a reliable partner. He mentioned the partnership significantly enhances SKY Express’s connectivity and that:

“Passengers can now enjoy seamless access to the largest network of Greek destinations, served by the youngest fleet in Greece. Together, we are dedicated to making Greece a sought-after, year-round destination for visitors from around the world.”
