Newly retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft will operate flights between Dubai and Melbourne, starting March 30, 2025. The retrofitted four-class Emirates Boeing 777-300ER is equipped with the airline’s award-winning Premium Economy product and the latest generation of Business class seats. The airline will now offer 77 weekly services to and from five Australian gateways, restoring its pre-pandemic capacity.

The new non-stop flight

The third daily non-stop flight between Melbourne and Dubai will increase customer choices and convenience. The new flight offers unparalleled connectivity for people travelling via Dubai to any of the 27 European cities served.

Emirates currently offers two non-stop daily flights between Melbourne and Dubai, operated using four-class Airbus A380s. The airline also operates a connecting flight from Dubai to Melbourne via Singapore, using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Emirates will cease operations between Singapore and Melbourne from 30 March 2025; however, the airline will operate a fourth direct Dubai-Singapore service with new flight numbers.

Flights EK404/405 between Dubai and Melbourne will use Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft.

  • EK404 will depart from Dubai at 21:15 hours and arrive in Melbourne at 17:40 hours.
  • EK405 will depart Melbourne at 23:55 hours and arrive in Dubai at 07:00 hours.

The newly retrofitted Boeing 777

Emirates’ launch of its newly refreshed Boeing 777 aircraft has set a new standard for comfortable travel, featuring impressive upgrades in premium travel. The newly retrofitted Boeing 777 includes 8 First Class Suites, 40 Business Class seats, 24 seats in Premium Economy, and 256 Economy Class seats.

The 2024 Business Traveler Asia-Pacific Awards recognized Emirates’ comfortable premium economy cabins as ‘Best in Class’. With a 2-4-2 layout, they consist of cream leather seats with 6-way adjustable headrests and reclining 8 inches. Customers have the ideal space to extend and unwind during extended flights.

The airline offers 40 upgraded business class seats. Their 20.7-inch-wide Business Class seat converts to a flat bed and reclines up to 78.6 inches. Customers can comfortably stretch out or sleep throughout the flight. Every customer has aisle access with the 1-2-1 configuration. The Emirates Boeing 777 Business Class cabin will also include a small bar for customers to get mid-flight snacks and refreshments. Customers will also be able to enjoy their own personal minibar and a 23-inch HD screen.

Emirates ongoing commitment to Australia

For nearly three decades, Emirates has invested in Australia beyond just providing a variety of flights.
Emirates offers a multitude of flights, transporting over 40 million passengers to and from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide via its Dubai hub. Emirates operates 77 weekly return services to Australia from its five major gateways.
