On March 31, announcements from Fiji Airways stated that it will be expanding its North American expansion with increased flights to Vancouver, Canada. It was also announced that there will be a codeshare agreement with British Airways to improve connectivity between Canada, the UK and the South Pacific.

British Airways codeshare agreement extends to Vancouver

From June 16, 2026, the airline will increase its Vancouver service to three flights per week year-round, to respond to the ongoing demand from the Canadian market. This will add additional seasonal capacity and will also be introduced on select travel dates to support this increase. The expansion of the codesharing partnership will allow for British Airways customers to book travel between the UK and Fiji via Vancouver.

This codeshare agreement is building on the existing network across Singapore, Hong Kong, Narita, San Francisco and Los Angeles. As a result, Fiji Airways has strengthened its position as a key South Pacific gateway. This latest addition marks a further milestone in its partnership between the two airlines.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Scurrah, stated:

“The expansion of our Vancouver services, alongside the extension of our codeshare partnership with British Airways, is a proud moment for Fiji Airways as we continue to grow our presence in North America.”

In 2025, Fiji Airways became a member of the oneworld alliance. This shows Fiji Airways and British Airways longstanding relationship as it is also a member.

Fiji Airways to make seasonal adjustments across key destinations

The Vancouver expansion will allow for guests travelling on the route to experience Fiji Airways, who is recognised for being awarded World Class service standard. The recognition places Fiji Airways among the Top 10 airlines in the world. Fiji Airlines, will also make seasonal adjustments across key destinations, including Auckland and Hong Kong.

This is to provide greater flexibility during peak travel periods and support the demand in a wider international network. Fiji Airways are continuing to grow its North American presence through this new expansion and its adoption of the American Airlines AAdvantage program. This is to further give customers access to network benefits in a loyalty system across 900 destinations worldwide.
