From 30 March 2025, Finnair is set to strengthen already existing long-haul flights to Asia and North America. The Finnish flag carrier, voted Best Airline in Northern Europe 14 times in a row, will be increasing the frequency of its flights to popular locations such as Los Angeles and Tokyo next summer. Whilst primarily boosting flights to the USA and Japan, Finnair will also be intensifying one of their Chinese routes, adding one extra flight from Helsinki to Shanghai.

Japanese Routes

Finnair will be updating its Helsinki to Osaka route up to sustaining daily flights, an increase from five weekly flights in summer 2024. This is in preparation for Osaka hosting the 2025 World Expo. Moreover, flight frequency to Nagoya will be doubling, offering four flights weekly. But above all, Finnair will be offering 25 weekly flights between Europe and the Japanese capital, Tokyo – utilizing both Tokyo-Haneda and Tokyo-Narita airports. Subsequently, this will mean that Finnair will become the largest European airline offering flights to Japan next summer. Not only this, they are also set to dominate with their proposed largest ever US-bound flight schedule from Helsinki.

American Routes

Not only is Finnair planning to conquer their Asian market, but their North American market too. Two thirds of the airline’s North American destinations are set to receive extra flights. For example, the Finnish flagbearer will be offering up to 11 weekly flights to Texas, giving customers the choice of double daily flights on multiple days of the week. Their Hollywood-bound flights to Los Angeles will also increase, going from three flights per week to five flights per week from Helsinki. And finally, the ‘Windy City’ is set to receive daily flights from Finnair in 2025, promoting travels to and from Chicago. On the opposite side of the United States, Seattle is also set to receive five weekly European flights.

“Summer 2025 is already set to be a sensational one here at Finnair, thanks to our boosted long-haul schedule to Asia and the US.” – Anssi Partanen, Finnair Market Director Europe.

Finnair has shown its dedication in striving to connect passengers with destinations worldwide, advancing its repertoire of routes. They are planning to make next summer’s transcontinental flying a lot more accessible for flyers.

Will you be trying out any of these routes next summer?
