State-owned flag carrier Qatar Airways announced on Monday that it would be expanding its international services across the most desirable destinations ahead of the hectic summer season predicted.

A Busy Summer Ahead

Across the globe, the incentive to travel has increased significantly as pandemic restrictions and hesitancies are almost a thing of the past. Like most airlines, Qatar Airways has noticed how busy it will be over the incoming summer season and has reacted accordingly.

The leading Middle Eastern carrier already serves 140 destinations worldwide.

The locations that will benefit from the expansions are services to Bali, Indonesia, and Phuket, Thailand, and Santorini. European destinations include the staple flights to Rome, Prague, Paris, and Barcelona. There are also flights to Africa on offer – services to Cape Town, Nairobi, and Kilimanjaro.

In a statement, Qatar Airways spoke about the expansion:

“Whether passengers are seeking summer vacations including tranquil beach gateways, energetic city breaks, bold adventure destinations, or incredible family and friend escapes, there is something for everyone.”

When discussing the incoming busy summer season and the positivity behind the increase in traffic, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive H.E Akbar Al Baker said:

“I am confident that leisure travel will see a major comeback this summer, and I am inviting travellers to make Qatar Airways part of their journey and enjoy our 5-star hospitality on board. The past two years have been frustrating for anyone wanting to travel the world, as well as challenging for the travel sector. However, the easing of travel restrictions in many parts of the world will aid in its fast and positive recovery.”
