International travel set to return in the UK

On May the 17th, international travel is supposedly going to be allowed again in the UK. However, that’s only if everything goes according to plan. Nevertheless, many airports and airlines have been preparing for a summer of tourism and flights again.

There will be a traffic light system in place for those looking to travel out of the UK. Green, amber and red will all coincide with different rules and regulations dependant on the country and what their current coronavirus crisis level is. It is said to be a lot easier to travel to a country labelled green, than a country determined as amber.

Bristol Airport and new airlines

UK airlines easyJet and Jet2.com have added new routes from Bristol Airport set to begin this summer. Firstly, Jet2 have added different cities in Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Italy and the Canary and Balearic Islands. Similarly, easyJet are helping to connect passengers between Bristol and Greece. It’s interesting to note that these low-cost carriers are targeting tourist hotspots and popular holiday destinations for those willing to fly after May.

Travel is taking back off…again

However, Bristol aren’t the only airport discussing their plans for the future this month, as Manchester have also been preparing for a summer of flights abroad. It seems the sectors of the aviation industry are eager to get back up in the air again and are readying themselves for an eventful few months after international travel is allowed again.
