Today a Qantas Flight QF9 was forced to return to the airport following a disruptive passenger onboard.

Upon arrival, the passenger was met by Australian Federal Police (AFP) officers.

A passenger onboard, described the passenger as “really wired and agitated” as “he locked himself in the loo for about an hour,” and “squaring off against another passenger and sort of shouting in his face.

The Saturday Night flight of QF9 operated by the new 787-9 Dreamliner delivered to the airline earlier this year was forced to return forcing the flying time over the crew members duty limits, subsequently leading to the flight’s rescheduling.

Passengers were provided with overnight accommodation, and eventually left Perth about 17 hours after their initial departure time.

Qantas has apologised for the inconvenience to passengers, but said it takes a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour on board its aircrafts.
