Passengers travelling through London Gatwick Airport this afternoon have been met with a technical difficulty at the airport as thhe screens which display live departure and arrivals information for passengers’ flights went blank this morning leaving hundreds of passengers in the dark.

London Gatwick airport has been forced to draft in whiteboards which staff are having to relentlessly update with the latest information provided by Air Traffic Control.

The airport posted a statement on Twitter, saying: “Due to an ongoing issue with Vodafone – an IT provider for the airport – our flight information screens are not displaying correctly. Please use the temporary flight boards in the departure lounges or listen for airline flight announcements.”

Over 80,000 passengers are predicted to be travelling through the two terminals at the airport today causing mass disruption for outgoing flights.
