The public has been evacuated from the airbase and the remainder of the show has been cancelled. It is believed the Pilot didn’t survive the crash.

Are Airshow Flying Displays dangerous?

Firstly Airshows flying displays are usually flown by the best pilots around. Of course any low level flying and acrobatic displays are inherently risky. The spectators are kept at a safe distance and pilots are under no circumstances to overfly the crowds.

Noteworthy Airshow Accidents

26th January 2017 – Australia Day celebrations (Perth, Australia) – A Grumman G-73 Mallard flying boat (VH-CQA), crashed into the Swan River.

22nd August 2015, an ex-military jet aircraft being operated as a warbird crashed during a display at the Shoreham Airshow at Shoreham Airport, England, killing 11 people and injuring 16 others.
