Skytrax’s 2025 World Airline Star Rating has awarded Korean Air five stars for the fifth consecutive year. The airline earned the accolade due to its exceptional passenger experiences, premium in-flight dining options, and well-crafted website design.

How Skytrax Assessed Korean Air

The overall assessment carried out by Skytrax lasted for two weeks. Auditors from the organisation flew on different Korean Air flights. Their primary approach was to act as if they were ‘mystery shoppers’ reviewing the service provided.

The auditors reviewed all elements of the airline, from airport check-in and facilities onboard to baggage claim. Having ended their enhanced auditing, they confirmed that Korean Air maintained its high service standards and remains a five-star airline.

Regarding the airline’s successful inspection, Skytrax’s CEO, Edward Plaisted said:

“The Certification of Korean Air with the highest 5-Star Airline Rating for 2025 is a testament to the consistent focus on delivering a high-quality passenger experience. This 5-Star Airline Rating confirms that Korean Air continues to excel in key areas such as cabin comfort, catering, and a very accomplished service delivery both onboard and on each flight.”

Korean Air’s Winning Streak

Korean Air has been experiencing a successful streak of positive developments. 2024 saw the airline obtain a certificate for Consumer-Centred Management from Korea’s Fair Trade Commission for the third year straight.

AirlineRatings also crowned Korean Air Airline of the Year for 2025, based on the comfort it provides its passengers. These major awards highlight how focused the airline is in offering its customers the best service possible, both in-flight and on the ground.
