Etihad Airways and Vietnam Airlines have partnered up to allow their loyalty members to earn and redeem miles across both airlines.

Frequent Flyers Can Earn More Miles
Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam’s national carrier, have signed a partnership agreement. This agreement will enable members of their loyalty schemes to earn and redeem miles on both networks beginning July 1 2025.
Managing Director Etihad Guest at Etihad Airways, Mark Potter, has said:
“We are pleased to offer our members even more ways to earn and redeem their Etihad Guest miles, rewarding guests for every extraordinary travel experience. Complimenting Etihad’s launch of flights to Hanoi from November this year, this partnership gives our members access to Vietnam Airlines’ impressive global network, offering members more destinations across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and domestic Vietnam. We look forward to welcoming Lotusmiles members onboard Etihad soon, to experience our signature Emirati hospitality and earn and redeem their miles with us, one adventure at a time.”
Nguyen Sy Thanh, Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles Director, has also added:
“We are delighted to partner with Etihad Airways. This collaboration will offer Lotusmiles members greater opportunities to earn and redeem miles across an extensive global network, including destinations in North America and the Middle East. It also ensures a seamless and rewarding travel experience, delivered with world-class service from both airlines. This marks an important milestone in our journey to enhance customer value and reinforce our continued commitment to provide memorable travel experiences. Beyond that, the partnership reflects our dedication to delivering the image of Vietnam and its rich cultural identity closer to the world.”
Across both networks, passengers will be able to enjoy accessibility to hundreds of international destinations. Vietnam Airlines alone already has a network of 106 routes across 36 international destinations as well as domestic flights within Vietnam. Both airlines are known for the excellent services they bring with both earning numerous awards in their respective sectors.

New Partnerships for Etihad
This partnership between the two airlines was established in October 2024 when they signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which started the initial phase of their expanded cooperation. The Memorandum of Understanding was a commitment from both airlines to explore collaborating to benefit both of their customers, and linking Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates.
This is not the first partnership this year for Etihad as they had announced a partnership with Ethiopian Airlines in June 2025, which was aimed at “strengthening connectivity between Africa and Asia, Australia and the Middle East.”
Later this year, Etihad will start its services to Hanoi as part of the 16 new destinations that the airline is introducing.
