New Jet2 Base at Bournemouth Airport: A Significant Growth for the South Region

The remarkable launch of jet2 flights at the Bournemouth Airport represents significant growth for the south region of England, with 100 new jobs to be created with different positions as flight attendants, ground operations, and customer service agents.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy expressed his enthusiasm by stating:

We know that customers want to be properly looked after in their holiday experience, and that is why we are making a significant investment in the region, including creating over 100 new jobs to do that. From today, we are counting down to the start of operations from Bournemouth Airport when we can satisfy customers, just as we have with millions of other customers from across the UK for so many years.”

Bournemouth Airport is set to invest in improvements and upgrades by investing around £5 million in airport upgrades, hoping to handle 1M passengers this year. Jet2’s base at Bournemouth Airport is a great achievement, followed by increased flights from operating airline companies, TUI and Ryanair.

Andrew Bell, Chief Executive Officer, Regional City Airports, expressed that Jet2 choosing Bournemouth as their base “will produce new employment locally, add 16 fabulous new destinations from Bournemouth, up to 27 extra flights a week, and estimated additional 300,000 passengers using the airport.”
