The Hungarian ultra-low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced it will begin a new route from its base in Naples, Italy (NAP) to Timișoara in Romania (TSR), with fares starting at 14.99 euros (£12.62).

Expansion in Naples
The introduction of this flight marks Wizz Air’s continued expansion of its base at Naples-Capodichino International Airport, one of five Italian airports that has a Wizz Air base. The Hungarian airline first connected Cluj-Napoca in Romania with Naples in 2022 with the expansion of its fleet there. Wizz Air has also announced five new destinations from Naples; at the end of September 2025, the airline will begin flying from Naples to Chișinău (Moldova), Yerevan (Armenia), Brașov (Romania), and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt). Flights from Naples to Tel Aviv in Israel will also begin on 30 October 2025. These flights are starting ahead of schedule as the fleet’s second Airbus A321neo will enter service on 29 September, as opposed to the original intended start date (15 October). Tickets for these flights are already available to book via the airline’s website and app.
Salvatore Gabriele Imperiale, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, commented:
“The launch of the Timisoara route and the acceleration of our operational plan in Naples further confirm the important role this base plays in our growth strategy in Italy. With the early arrival of the second aircraft, we are able to offer new routes, increase travel opportunities for our passengers and contribute to the development of the region. We are delighted to connect Naples to a growing number of accessible and unique destinations. And we do so by maintaining our commitment to offering consistently competitive fares, because we believe travel should be a quality experience, but also and above all within everyone’s reach.”
