WestJet and Virgin Atlantic have officially combined their loyalty programmes from Feb. 17, 2026, in a move designed to boost connectivity and expand reward opportunities for travellers on both sides of the Atlantic.

WestJet and Virgin Atlantic Partnership
WestJet, a low-cost Canadian airline which started operations in 1996 operates a modern fleet, including Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner, their largest aircraft. Virgin Atlantic is a well-know British airline, which operates in 200 cities. Their largest aircraft is the Airbus A350.
As stated by WestJet’s executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, John Weatherill, “strengthening ties with a world-class airline like Virgin Atlantic has long delivered stronger connectivity for our guests”.
In March 2025, the airlines launched an expansion in their codeshare agreement, increasing codeshare flights. This partnership allowed for more connectivity for passengers flying between the United Kingdom and Canada. Virgin Atlantic launched a route to Toronto in the same month.

New Rewards System
WestJet Rewards and Virgin Atlantic Flying Club expand the benefits that can be earned through traveling. This new expansion of loyalty benefits will create more rewards for customers of both airlines.
The passengers who will benefit the most from this expansion are those who are traveling on WestJet through Virgin Atlantic’s Toronto (YYZ) – London (LHR) route. The capacity for that route has also been increased. The A350-1000 will be used for the flights during the summer.
Additionally, members of WestJet rewards are now able to use their points as payment for WestJet codeshare flights operated by Virgin Atlantic. The destinations that can be redeemed with the points fly via London Heathrow, and are Dubai, Malé, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.
