United Airlines has announced that it will be launching new routes that will begin service in 2027. Three of the routes announced will connect San Francisco, California, to other parts of the United States. An additional service between Bermuda and Chicago has also been confirmed by the American airline.

New Domestic Services for United Airlines
United Airlines has confirmed that it will be expanding its network by adding three new services to its domestic roster that will operate from spring 2027.
From March 28, United will be expanding its services from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) by offering nonstop routes to:
- Charleston, South Carolina.
- Hartford, Connecticut.
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
None of these three cities currently have nonstop flights to San Francisco, meaning United’s services will offer a unique route for passengers wishing to travel from the West Coast to more easterly destinations in the U.S.
The San Francisco to Charleston route is seasonal and will run from the route’s launch at the end of March to Nov. 30, 2027. The services to Hartford and Oklahoma City will both be serviced all year round.
Elliot Summey, president and CEO of Charleston International Airport (CHS), celebrated the new route:
“This new transcontinental route strengthens our connection to the West Coast, supports our business and tourism communities, and gives travellers more choices when flying from their hometown airport.”
Charleston will be served by four flights per week while Hartford and Oklahoma City will gain a daily rotation. Oklahoma City is also the only route of the three that will be operated by United Express. The other services will be operated by United’s mainline narrowbody service.

Chicago-Bermuda service
Alongside the expansion of its domestic service, United Airlines will also be launching a new international route in the spring months of 2027.
From April 3, subject to government approval, the American airline will be flying nonstop from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda (BDA). There are currently no other services directly between Chicago and Bermuda, so United will be the sole provider of the route.
The new service will operate weekly on Saturdays and be operated by Boeing 737 aircraft. The schedule has been designed to complement United’s current service from Bermuda that flies to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) year-round.
Owen Darrell, Bermuda’s minister of tourism, transport, culture and sport, said:
“The introduction of nonstop service from Chicago represents an important step in expanding Bermuda’s reach within the U.S. market. Each new gateway gives us an opportunity to introduce our island to more travellers, strengthen our tourism industry and support the businesses and people who depend on it. We welcome United’s continued commitment to Bermuda and look forward to building on this important connection.”
