It’s official: a new route connecting with direct flights from New York to Faro will be launched in 2024.
This groundbreaking news excited the residents of Algarve-Portugal about this new big development at Faro Airport, as they impatiently await the commencement of this new travel advancement in air travel from Faro Airport.
United will be the only airline company operating direct flights from New York to Faro, Portugal. The flight will be operated four times a week on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 176 seats and is expected to start on May 24.

United Airlines is already a prominent American company with a significant presence in Portugal, offering numerous flights connecting major Portuguese cities such as Lisbon, Porto, and the Portuguese island of Azores-Ponta Delgada to New York. The addition of this new route to the Algarve region marks a crucial and impactful development for the local economy.
Andre Gomes, President of the Algarve Tourism Region, said,
“It is extremely positive for what the region’s expectations are, having in mind the impact that this market already has in the Algarve, in terms of the tourism but also due to the presence of investments from large funds and brands.”
He also expressed his positive perspective stating that United Airlines has consistently demonstrated interest and motivation in taking the initial step towards establishing direct flights from New York to Faro (Algarve). The airline’s commitment is evident in this new route’s potential.

Additionally, United revealed that the connectivity between Lisbon and Washington D.C. will be prolonged year-round, starting in February, and is also planning to introduce several captivating routes to Europe in 2024, including Washington Dulles to Barcelona, Washington Dulles to Rome, San Francisco to Rome, Newark to Nice, Chicago O’Hare to Milan, and many more. Furthermore, the expansion of Pacific Ocean flights, with new routes connecting San Francisco with Manila and Beijing.
