Starlux Airlines is opening a new European long haul Route in Prague from Taiwan. The Taiwanese airline is set to launch this new long haul route in the start of August, hoping to run regular European services to Prague 3-4 times per week with its fleet of A350-900s.

From Taiwan to Prague

This is Starlux Airlines’ first European long haul route, coming to Prague‘s Václav Havel Airport (PRG) directly from its main operation in Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) in Taiwan’s capital city of Taipei. Services will be running August 1 initially starting with three scheduled departures between Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with a proposed increase of four scheduled departures every week by October: extending them to Mondays. Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors had this to say:

“We greatly appreciate this new partnership and are convinced that the new regular service will contribute to the further development of tourism between the Czech Republic and Taiwan.”

He also said that the new route could be used for “more than 95,000 passengers in both directions during its first year of operation”

However, Starlux Airlines have competition with China Airlines who previously established their own long haul flights to Prague in July 2023.

Class Travel

The cabins of the A350-900 were devised by BMW Designworks and covers four passenger classes: Economy, Premium Economy, Business Class and First Class. This marks the maximum seating capacity of the A350-900 at 306 passengers.

Glenn Chai, CEO of Starlux Airlines said this in a statement:

“Prague is a long-favored destination for Taiwanese travelers, and growing semiconductor industry ties are expected to further drive demand between Taiwan and the Czech Republic.”

The direct connection between Prague and Taipei is also designed for international tourists to make use of Starlux Airlines’ services to fly across Asian countries like Vietnam and Japan as well as China.
