U.S.-based Republic Airways has opened its new headquarters in Carmel, Indiana, after announcing this planned development on Sept. 21, 2021. This marks a key step in consolidating the company’s operations and workforce.

A Little About Republic Airways

Republic Airways is a major U.S. regional airline based in Indiana and was founded in 1974. It is a contractor airline that operates as a capacity provider for:

  • American – American Eagle
  • Delta – Delta Connection
  • United Airlines – United Express

With over 8,000 aviation professionals employed, it operates over 1,000 daily flights with a fleet of Embraer 170/175 jets and connects travellers to more than 80 cities across North America.

New Headquarters

As of February 2026, Republic Airways has opened its new $200 million corporate headquarters and training campus at 2 Brickyard Lane, Carmel, IN 46032.

This five-storey building supports over 600 employees and includes a 105,000-square-foot training centre with eight full-motion simulators, the Brickyard Hotel for associates, a fitness centre, and a Systems Operations Control centre.

The training facility is connected to the site’s other facilities, including Republic’s 142,000-square-foot corporate headquarters; an 800-space parking garage with commercial space on the ground floor and 94 multifamily units above; and the Hampton hotel, which will be expanded from 109 guest rooms to 272.

Steve Hood, vice president of Properties and Facilities, stated:

“We want folks who go beyond the ordinary. So we had to build an extraordinary space.

“We’re not just investing in an office, or a cafeteria or a hotel. We’re investing in the people who spend their time here.”

The training centre, garage and hotel opened in 2023, but employees didn’t begin moving into the new headquarters building until late last year, and the final workers are set to move at the end of February.

Formerly located at 8909 Purdue Road, Indianapolis, this new campus aims to centralise training, operations, and corporate functions into a single, modern campus in Hamilton County.

What Are the Benefits?

As planned, the project would bring 1,900 jobs and $150 million in annual wages to Carmel. By using the simulators, pilots are able to train to fly new aircraft, and flight attendants can prepare by simulating a variety of situations, including emergency protocols.

Hood added that:

“You can work here, train here, eat here, sleep here, exercise here, relax here. It really is a totally centralized location.”

This change in location was a move to create a better work environment that is more enjoyable for employees and to further their goal of becoming America’s leading regional air carrier of choice.
