Qantas Airlines is expecting a multi-million dollar upgrade of QantasLink’s fleet. Onboard QantasLink’s fleet includes 28 Airbus A320, and Airbus A319 aircraft with access to onboard WiFi, moves and TV shows on your own device through Qantas’s Entertainment App.

Cabin upgrades to planes to improve comfort and reliability onboard flights
Expected as part of the upgrade includes updates on the fleet’s aircrafts. AS20’s are expected to be fitted with new seats, USB A/C ports for charging in the air, and portable device holders.
As part of the multi-million dollar aircraft upgrades, three mid-life Embraer E190 jets are awaited to arrive by the end of 2026, slowly fading out Network Aviation’s fleet of Fokker 100 aircraft, with a total of up to 14 E190s expected to join the fleet. This is predicted to improve reliability, provide extra comfort for passengers and improve fuel efficiency.
Fokker’s F100’s, the ‘backbone’ of Network Aviation’s operations for over 30 years, are moving into retirement slowly as the airline expectes A320s from Jetstar Asia. It’s current fleet is a mix of Fokker 100’s, Airbus 319 and Airbus A320 – leading to a total of 35 aircrafts.
Mark Dal Pra, QantasLinks’s CEO talked about the positives of the upgrades for Western Australia:
“This multi-million-dollar investment reinforces our long-term commitment to serving the critical resources sector in Western Australia and connecting regional communities across the state.”
“Not only will it significantly enhance the travel experience for our customers, it will also help us improve reliability and efficiency across our WA network.”
“It also builds on Qantas’ commitment to developing Perth as its Western Hub, including recent investments in new training facilities, infrastructure upgrades at Perth Airport and the launch of domestic and international routes to destinations including Newcastle, Hobart, Johannesburg and Auckland.”
